This section contains photographs and journals of my present life in China.

I have always been fascinated by China - the country and its culture. I found a job teaching English in a middle school in Boshan city, Shandong province. It was the first time i was dealt with a large group of children. The job was very different from my previous ones as an engineer. As an engineer i dealt with an abstract world but was paid well. Now as a teacher, i deal heavily with people and am paid very little.

After Boshan, I taught in Lanzhou, Gansu province for 6 months. Then I moved to ZhangYe, Gansu - a much smaller town and am now teaching in Hexi University.

In general, China is a very misunderstood country. The views of the media about China are essentially wrong. China is in reality a fairly modern country with a very forward, optimistic people. It was my intention to test the waters in China, so I came on a 6 month contract. I now like it so much that I am about to enter my 4th year.
