Artist Sridhar V Ramasami is well known for his forceful, mystic paintings that push the boundaries of color and form. The confluence of three powerful cultures are evident in his paintings - Indian (birth), US (work and citizenship) and Chinese (present residence). His paintings have been exhibited and collected in Japan, USA, China and India.
The painting philosophy includes:
- Beauty in simplicity
- Non-realism
- Color as a symbol for life
- Story telling
The paintings depict a story. The story is told in a holistic and mystic style. It is intended to be a springboard for the viewers imagination. Considerable ambiguity is hence, incorporated to allow for viewer interpretation.
